Ace Rental Cars Terms & Conditions AU
The Agent Terms and Conditions attached are issued in 1st July 2016 and are valid for all bookings
and rentals from this date.
Ace Rental Cars reserves the right with notice to update Terms and Conditions at such times where
amendments are required.
1) RENTAL COLLECTION
ACE Australia branches are located ‘off airport’ and on the outskirts of city perimeters.
A courtesy shuttle is provided for collection and return from/to airport terminals and/or local
accommodation within a branch defined radius of the location.

2) RATES INCLUSIONS & COMMISSIONS
ACE retail rates are a dynamic variable rate provided in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are available at
all participating locations in Australia
- Unlimited Kilometers within identified areas.
- GST at 10%
- Damage Cover with excess
- 24 Hour Roadside Assistance
- Reduced Excess Insurance
- One Way Fees
- Out of Hours Fees
- Optional extras
Commission is payable on the ‘Time & Kilometer’ Revenue excluding GST on all Retail Rates.
A separate commercial agreement will be negotiated outside of the Terms and Conditions and all
commission is paid on completion of rental.
Commission will not be paid on cancelled or no showed bookings.
For avoidance of doubt, Commission is not payable on ancillary and additional items including but
not limited to, One Way Fees, Insurance options, and Optional extras
3) MANDATORY FEES & OUT OF HOURS
The following fees are not included in the Nett Rates and are payable locally to the ACE Branch.
All Fees are inclusive of GST.
CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE
A credit card surcharge will apply on all credit card transactions. Current Charges are indicated below.
Visa/Mastercard 1.9% + GST
American Express/Diners Card 3.4% + GST
ACE Australia reserves the right with notice to change this fee at any time
AFTER HOURS RESERVATIONS ARE NO LONGER PERMITTED.
YOUNG DRIVER FEE
All renters aged between 18-21 Years will be required to pay a Young Renter Fee.
4) RENTAL CONDITIONS
All rentals are subject to Ace Car Rental Standard Rental Terms & Conditions which are issued with
the customers Rental Agreement. A copy of the Rental Terms and Conditions is available on
A Rental Day consists of a consecutive 24 hours.
When returning a vehicle, a grace period of 59 minutes is permitted, after which the
customer is liable for an extra days hire at the current applicable daily rate.
No refunds will be given on unused days.
Minimum Hire is applicable on some One Way rentals. Please refer to Section 7 ONE WAY RENTALS
for further information.
Flight numbers and arrival times are required for all rental reservations with an airport pick up
Rental extensions are permitted and will be charged to the customer/renter direct at the
applicable daily rate
All hire’s require a security bond to cover the liability in the event the vehicle is damaged. This may be done by either of the following methods;
Credit Card – Credit / Debit Card – A pre authorisation will be taken on the hirer’s Credit / Debit card which will ‘freeze’ The amount of the pre-authorisation will be equal to the amount of the liability carried on the vehicle, in-line with the selected CDW option.
This authorisation will be released by the customers issuing bank in accordance with their own terms & conditions, on conclusion of the rental period.
NOTE: Cash or EFTPOS payments will NOT be accepted as security against the hire of a vehicle.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Ace Rental Cars accepts the following methods of payment for the rental of vehicles;
- Cash (Australian Dollars ONLY)
- Australian EFTPOS
- Debit Visa/Mastercards*
- All major credit cards*
- Pre-payment vouchers from approved third-party agents
*Credit card surcharges apply. See Below
For all in-branch payments a credit card surcharge of 1.35% applies when payment is made by Visa, MasterCard, and Unionpay. For Amex and Diners Cards a surcharge of 2.97% applies.
5) AUTHORISED DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
All Reservations should be made in the name of the Authorised Driver/Main Renter.
MINIMUM DRIVER AGE
Minimum 18 years old. No maximum age limit providing the client is still carrying a valid and full
license. A Young Renter Fee will apply to all renters aged 18-21 Years
All renters must hold a valid full driving license which must be presented at commencement of
hire. Provisional, Restricted and Probationary licenses are not accepted.
If an Overseas licenses is not in English it must be accompanied by an International Drivers
Permit (IDP) or/and an approved translation document. This must be presented along with the

All Rental Protection Options are available locally and are payable direct at each location.
Important Note: The Vehicle Bond/Excess can only be reduced by purchasing Ace Excess
Reduction or Ace Prime Protection.
Should a customer purchase third party car rental insurance they will be liable for the full $3000
Bond Deposit and in the event of an accident this will be retained by ACE rental cars. It is the
Customers responsibility to claim this back through their third party insurance provider.
7) ONE WAY RENTALS
One Way rentals are permitted on selected routes in ACE Vehicles.
One Way Fees are dynamically priced dependent on vehicle availability, demand and movement.
All One Way Fees will be passed back through the XML/API/WEB System Link and included GST
One way rentals are not permitted to or from Perth.
One Way Fees should be paid direct to the branch on commencement of rental
8) DRIVING RESTRICTIONS
All vehicles must remain within the following Australian states: Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territories, Victoria and South Australia.
Vehicles are not permitted to be driven in the Northern Territory or Tasmania Perth hirers are restricted to an area with Western Australia outlined below.
- Use on sealed roads and highways only
- Driving permitted within an area 500km from Perth CBD with the following exceptions.
- North past this radius to Shark Bay, only on and to the West of M1 North of Geraldton.
- East past this radius on M94 only, to Kalgoorlie/Boulder and use in the immediate townships.
- South East past this radius to Esperance, only on and to the South of M1 and use in the immediate township.
- Vehicles taken outside these boundaries, or where the renters drive on unsealed, sand or clay roads (excluding road works) and on any mine sites or beaches are in breach of the Rental Agreement and as such, the cost of any service or recovery to vehicles will be the responsibility of the hirer. It is also therefore concluded that Ace vehicles may not travel between Perth locations and any other Ace branch and vice versa.

9) OPTIONAL EXTRAS
All Optional Extras must be requested at the time of reservation. Ace Car Rentals cannot
guarantee availability of these items if not pre-booked.
All Optional Extras Fees are to be paid locally at time of rental.
All children are required by Australian Law to travel in child vehicle restraints up to and including the
age of 7 Years.

These are subject to availability at time of pick up

Additional drivers may be included and covered under the terms of the Rental Agreement
provided they present a current Driver License at the commencement of the hire.

All ACE Vehicles are fitted with an e-tag. Customers/Renters will be charged for all toll road fees for
the period of their rental.
A prepaid Toll Product is available to purchase at time of rental.

Glass & Tyre Cover
Additional cover for Windscreens and Tyres may be purchased locally
10) FLEET AVAILABILITY AND CONFIRMATION
All ACE Reservations will be confirmed subject to general availability at the time of reservation.

11) CANCELLATIONS & NO SHOWS
Cancellations are permitted up to day of arrival with No Charge.
Ace Rental Cars will reserve the right to charge an Admin Fee equivalent to a 1 Day Rental Fee for any

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
