Important information about your rental
On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Cruisin Oz Cars. Here is a summary of the terms and conditions:
Definitions
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Crusin Oz Cars.
- The Supplier means the operator of Crusin Oz Cars.
- The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s)
RATES INCLUDE GST
Stamp Duty
Unlimited kms within area of use. Hyundai Getz restricted to a 200km radius of Brisbane (includes Sunshine Coast to the north and Byron Bay to the south). All other vehicles restricted to a 250km radius of Brisbane. This would include Maryborough & Sunshine Coast to the north, Byron Bay to the south and Toowoomba to the west).
Standard insurance excess of $2100 for drivers over 25 years of age
Standard insurance excess of $2500 for drivers 21 – 24 years of age
All vehicles covered by 24hr RACQ Roadside Assistance
FREE pick-ups from Brisbane Hotels, Monday – Friday during Office Hours for hires of 5 days or more. This must be requested at the time of booking.
RATES EXCLUDE
By prior arrangement, after hours collections & returns are available for the Brisbane Domestic location, Brisbane International Airport and the Coolangatta Airport, but no where else. An after hours collection & return surcharge will apply for these locations.
Extra Options Charges (Baby Seats, Booster Seats, GPS)
UNLIMITED KILOMETERS
The rates quoted include UNLIMITED kilometers within the allocated area (see ‘Area of Use’).
DRIVER’S LICENCE
All drivers should hold a valid full driver’s licence (not provisional or learners). Australian, New Zealand, International and Overseas Licenses are acceptable.
ADDITIONAL DRIVERS
A charge will apply for each additional driver.
RATES
Hirers are reminded that all prices are in Australian dollars and that GST of 10% is included in all prices. Prices may vary without notice due to availability or in peak seasons. However, once you have booked a car your price is fixed. A surcharge of $50.00 applies to cars hired or dropped off on Xmas Day and Good Friday. A surcharge of $30.00 applies to cars hired or dropped off on any Australian public holiday.
RENTAL DURATION
Minimum 24 hours from time of pick-up. Additional hours are charged at $10.00 per hour up to 3 hours and a full day thereafter. These rates only apply to notified late returns. Failure to return the vehicle to the nominated return location on the specified date & time, without prior notification, will result in a $75.00 penalty being applied.
AREA OF USE
Super Saver vehicles must remain within a 200km radius of Brisbane City.
All other vehicles must remain within a 250km radius of Brisbane City.
Should vehicles not remain within the respective radius areas, all waivers will be void due to breach of contract.
The following areas do fall within our authorised area of use – to the north (Sunshine Coast and Maryborough)
to the south (Northern New South Wales including Byron Bay and Lismore) and to the west (Toowoomba).
COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)IMPORTANT:A pre-authorisation of $1,000 is taken for those hirers who do not take the option of Insurance Reduction (Collision Damage Waiver CDW). For hirers who reduce their excess, no pre-authorisation is required.
Hireage includes full comprehensive insurance. Insurance excess of $2500.00 for hirers over 25 years and $3000.00 for hirers 21-24 years applies. A waiver of $12 per day may be paid to reduce the excess for Hirers over 25 to $350 and 21-24 years to $650. Tyre & Windscreen insurance is not included.
TYRE & WINDSCREEN PROTECTION (TWP)
This protection covers tyres, punctures, windscreen cracks and replacement screens (excluding People Movers), provided vehicle is used within the terms of the contract. Repairs may only be carried out with the authorisation of Crusin Oz Cars. No reimbursement will be made if tyres or windscreens are repaired without written authorisation from Crusin Oz Cars. This protection is available for an additional daily fee. We recommend that this be taken at an additional charge.
EARLY RETURNS
The term of hire shall be for the period of time described in the Agreement.
No refund available if vehicle is returned before date shown on contract. (Exceptional circumstances will be considered by Crusin Oz Cars)
GOODS & SERVICES TAX
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is included in all prices quoted on this Website.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
We provide a complimentary 24-hour vehicle breakdown service through RACQ. A toll free telephone number is provided in our “In car information guide”. Please note that a call-out for driver error, i.e. keys locked in car or out of fuel, will incur a AU$65 service fee and any additional costs relating to driver error.
FUEL
Vehicles are supplied full of fuel. If you choose to return the vehicle with less petrol than supplied at the time of Rental, Cruisin Oz Rentals will provide a re-fuelling service at your expense. This cost will be double the pump price at the Company’s nominated fuel provider.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
Any traffic infringements incurred during your rental period will incur an administration fee.
STREET DIRECTORIES & MAPS
We provide, with compliments, a street directory covering Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. A replacement fee will be charged for non return.
GPS NAVIGATION UNITS
GPS Navigation Units are available as an optional extra (minimum 3 day rental). Please note that loss or damage to GPS Unit will result in a $500.00 replacement fee being applied.
PAYMENT
For vehicle security, all hirers must have possession of a valid credit card. Unless you have a current credit card and driver’s licence we will not hire you a car! All major credit cards are accepted. A 5% bank surcharge applies to all Amex & Diners Cards. Upon confirmation of your booking, a 5% non-refundable deposit will be processed. A pre-authorisation of $1,000 is taken for those hirers who do not take the CDW. For hirers who reduce their excess, no pre-authorisation is required.
BABY SEATS
Please note: if requested, we provide Forward Facing Baby Seats & Booster Seats for rent. Although we supply all attachment items (such as straps & bolts), we DO NOT connect the seats as many of our customers prefer to ensure that their very precious passengers are safely secured. To that end, should you be arriving to a location, such as the Airport, where the vehicle may be left for your collection, then the items will be left on the back seat of the vehicle for you to secure.

On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Pick ups

Rather than refund the taxi charge at the time of collection, we will give you a $20.00 discount off your total rental once your booking has been confirmed.
After Hours Pick Ups/Drop offs
After hours collections for this location are available on request and will incur an after hours surcharge fee. You must request this in advance by selecting the After House Picking Up / Dropping off surcharge in the extra level.
Brisbane International Airport depot
Brisbane is a serviced non depot location.
