Rates Include:
Our standard rates include 250 kilometres per day of travel for passenger vehicles and 100 kilometres per day of travel for commercial vehicles (unless specified), cumulatively (i.e. 7-day hire of a passenger vehicle would give you 1750 kms of included use). Extra kilometres are charged at 27.5 cents per km.
Our Price Guarantee does not apply during school holidays or public holidays.
Driver's Licenses:
All full current Australian and overseas or international licences are accepted. Drivers are to be a minimum age of 21 years old. Drivers between the age of 21 and 24 will incur a daily underage fee and restricted vehicle size.
Under 25 years olds can only rent ECAR, and CCAR categories and are not able to rent FCAR and above.
Payment Methods:
At time of rental please have your current drivers licence and credit card with you. We require the cost of the rental plus a maximum $330 preauthorisation on your credit card as a security bond. The hirer's credit card must authorise for this amount. The security bond is held as a security through the rental period and returned in full if no further charges apply.
We accept Visa, Bankcard, Mastercard and Eftpos. Traveller's cheques for rental payment only. A 5% surcharge applies to all payments by AMEX & Diners.
Special Brisbane Car Rentals Offer
We offer free delivery to the Brisbane Airport with no additional airport taxes and charges on top of your car hire rate. Clients are met by our meet and greet system after calling us on our phone number to notify us of your arrival. One way rentals are also available to the Gold Coast and Maroochydore airport.
Collision Damage Liability:
All vehicles are insured. The hirer is given the benefit of this coverage subject to the conditions of hire. There is a collision damage liability (CDL) of $2750.00 with the standard rates in an accident with another vehicle. This may be reduced to $330 by paying an additional charge for drivers 25 years of age and over.
This collision damage waiver (CDW) is optional. Hirers are reminded that overhead, interior, underbody, single vehicle damage, windscreen & tyre damage however caused is always at the hirers risk. Please note that insurance is void if driven on unsealed roads.

All vehicles are insured. The hirer is given the benefit of this coverage subject to the conditions of hire. There is a collision damage liability (CDL) of $2750.00 with the standard rates in an accident with another vehicle. This may be reduced to $1500.00 by paying an additional charge. This collision damage waiver (CDW) is optional. Hirers are reminded that overhead, interior, underbody, single vehicle damage, windscreen & tyre damage however caused is always at the hirers risk. Premium Protection Package
In addition to the Collision Damage Liability (CDL) Package available, renters over the age of 25 (Trucks not included) also have the option of taking out the Premium Protection Package (PPL), which will in turn reduce your Single Vehicle Damage Accident damage and provide total peace of mind for as little as an additional charge, aligning your Multi and Single Vehicle Liability which will reduce your financial responsibility for accident damage to $330.00 plus administrative costs listed below.
This offer is not available to commercial vehicles.

Exclusions to CDL & PPP

Administration Charges:
$220.00 admin fee is charged in addition to the Single Vehicle Damage Liability.
$220.00 admin fee is charged in addition to the Multi Vehicle Damage Liability.
$99.00 admin fee is charged in addition to any traffic infringements incurred by the hirer during the rental period.
Additional Driver:
Additional drivers are protected if nominated for a one off fee per driver.
Child Restraints:
Booster seats, baby seats or capsules are available at an extra charge, however these must be booked in advance as supply of these items is limited.
Rental Duration:
Rental day period is 24 hours, extra hours are 1/3 daily rate until daily rate is reached. Kilometre per day of travel allowance is extended at 1/3 of daily allocation per hour until daily allocation is reached.
Refunds:
There are no refunds for early returns. Any change of plans including requests to extend must be notified to our office.
Vehicle Condition and Return
You acknowledge the Vehicle is delivered to You in good operating condition with the seal of the odometer unbroken. You agree to return the Vehicle in the same condition (except for ordinary wear and tear NOT INCLUDING WINDSCREEN OR TYRE DAMAGE) together with its tools, tyres, accessories and equipment on the date and place specified on Page 1 (or sooner, if demanded by the company). The Company may take possession of the Vehicle without prior demand to You and at your expense if there has been a breach of any terms or conditions of the Agreement or if the Vehicle is illegally parked, used in violation of the law or is apparently abandoned. If the seal of the odometer is broken, or otherwise tampered with, you will be responsible for not only an extra charged based on standard kilometre allowance per day at 50c per kilometre, but also for any cost of repairing the odometer. NOTE: If there is to be any extension of the period of hire beyond that stated on Page 1, the Company must be notified and it must agree to such extension in writing, otherwise the Vehicle will be immediately reported to the police as stolen.
Person who must not drive the Vehicle
a) A person who is not identified on Page 1 as either the Hirer, Joint Hirer or Authorised Driver;
b) A person who is not licensed to drive the hired class of vehicle
c) A person whose blood alcohol concentration exceeds the lawful percentage whilst driving the vehicle;
d) A person who is driving the vehicle whiles under the influence of a drug;
e) A person who have given or for whom You have given a false name, age, address, or driver’s licence details;
f) A person whose driver’s licence has been cancelled, endorsed or suspended within the last three years;
g) A person who has held a driver’s licence for any class of vehicle for less that two years;
h) A person who uses or intends to use the Vehicle for an illegal purpose.
Circumstance where the Vehicle must not be Used
a) Any area outside the Area of Use shown on Page 1;
b) Any unsealed roads or off-road conditions unless authorised by the company in the Area of use on Page 1;
c) The carriage of any persons for hire or the carriage of any inflammable, explosive or corrosive materials;
d) Pushing or towing any vehicle, trailer, boat or other object unless the Company has authorised such use in writing;
e) The carriage of any greater load and/or persons and/or for a purpose for which the Vehicle was designed and constructed;
f) The carriage of any animal in the Vehicle unless authorised in writing or noted on Page 1 in SPECIAL CONDITIONS;
g) The use of the Vehicle for racing, pacemaking, reliability trials, speed trials, hill climbing or being tested in preparation for those activities;
h) The use of the Vehicle in a dangerous manner;
i) The use of the Vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic.
Obligations of the Hirer/Joint Hirer/Authorised Driver
NOTE: The Hirer/Joint Hirer and Authorised Driver are jointly and severally liable for compliance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.
By entering into the Agreement You are responsible for and irrevocably authorise the Company to debit the credit card provider on Page 1 or any other credit card provided (and You will pay the Company on demand any balance) with the following charges:
a) The rental charges specified on Page 1
b) All charges claimed by the company in respect of parking and or any other traffic violations incurred during the period of hire or until such later time as the Vehicle is returned to the Company;
c) All loss or damage to the Vehicle (including the loss or use of that Vehicle), legal expenses, assessment fees, towing & recovery, consequential third party damage, storage and company service charges where:
i. Any term or condition of the Agreement has been breached;
ii. The vehicle is involved in a single vehicle accident unless the Company waives such loss the Single Vehicle Accident Liability amount shown on Page 1 (which amount will apply in addition to the Standard Liability Charge noted on Page 1). A Single Vehicle Incident is defined as any incident where the Vehicle suffers loss or damage as a result of impact with any object whether animate or inanimate except another vehicle which can be fully identified and details of which have been provided by Your or on your behalf to the Company.
iii. You have left the Vehicle unlocked or left the keys in the Vehicle;
iv. You have failed to keep the key secure and under your personal control;
v. The underbody of the Vehicle is damaged regardless of cause except where there is a collision with another vehicle;
vi. The Vehicle is totally or partially immersed in water regardless of the cause;
vii. The interior of the Vehicle is damaged regardless of the cause except where there is a collision with another vehicle;
viii. The tyres of the Vehicle are damaged other than by normal wear and tear;
ix. The Vehicle or any third party property is damaged by driving the Vehicle under or into an object lower that the height of the Vehicle;
x. You have failed to maintain all fluid and fuel levels of the Vehicle or failed to immediately rectify or report to the Company any defect in the Vehicle of which you have become or ought to have become aware;
xi. The Vehicle is damaged by loading or unloading, normal wear and tear excepted;
xii. You have failed to secure properly any load or equipment which leads to loss or damage caused by any part of the load or equipment;
xiii. You use the Vehicle as an articulated vehicle unless agreed to by the Company in SPECIAL CONDITIONS on Page 1;
xiv. The exterior of the motor vehicle is damaged regardless of cause except where there has been a collision with another vehicle; If you have paid for the hire of the Vehicle by use of a credit card or directed the Company to bill charges to come other person, corporation, firm or organisation who or which fails to make payment when called upon by the Company, You hereby irrevocably accept that You are liable and will immediately pay the full amount to the Company on demand. The Company, in addition, may charge You interest at the rate of 18% per annum calculated on a daily basis on all outstanding accounts or charges payable in accordance with this Agreement, such interest to be computed from the end of the rental period.
Damage Cover
Provided You and or the Authorised Driver act within the terms and conditions of the Agreement the Company will grant damage cover (which includes your legal costs incurred with our written consent) to You and/or the authorised Driver in respect of damage to the Vehicle and/or damage to any third party property other than damage to any property owned by You (including any friend/relative, associate or passenger) in your physical or legal control.
This cover is also subject to:
a) You paying the COLLISION DAMAGE/LOSS LIABILITY CHARGE on Page 1;
b) You and/or the Authorised Driver not having breached any terms and conditions of this Agreement;
c) You and/or the Authorised Driver not being covered under any policy of insurance; and
d) You providing such information and assistance as may be requested by the Company or anyone acting on behalf of the Company.
If cover is provided, then the Company, or its insurer, may bring, defend or settle, any legal proceedings in it/s their sole discretion and the Company shall have the sole conduct of any proceedings. Any such proceedings shall be brought or defended in your name or the name of the Authorised Driver.
General Provisions
a) If there is any incident involving loss or damage to the Vehicle or involving the Vehicle while rented under this Agreement, You and/or the Authorised Driver shall promptly report such incident to the Company at the location where the Vehicle was hired as well as delivering to the Company immediately upon receipt by You and/or the Authorised Driver, every summons, complaint or paper in relation to such incident involving such loss or damage. You and/or the authorised Driver must also report all incidents to the police or other proper Authority;
b) You and/or the Authorised Driver irrevocably release and hold harmless to the Company (and its agents and employees) from all claims for loss or damage to your personal property, or that of any other persons property left in the vehicle, or which is received, handled or stored by the Company at any time before, during or after the rental period, whether due to the Company’s negligence or otherwise;
c) You and/or the Authorised Driver acknowledge that the Company relies on the truth of you/the Authorised Driver’s representations in this Agreement;
d) You and/or the Authorised Driver will not refuse or fail to take any blood analysis or breath test requested by the police;
e) Except as provided by law, no driver or passengers in the Vehicle shall be or deemed to be the agent, servant or employee of the Company in any manner for any purpose whatsoever;
f) The Company gives no express warranty in relation to the motor vehicle. Certain conditions and warranties are applied by statute, whether Commonwealth or State, which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified, such as those under the Trade Practices Act 1974. Where the Company is permitted to limit its liability under those statutes for breach of an implied condition or warranty the Company limits its liability to replacement, repair or resupply of the vehicle. All other warranties, conditions and other obligations which may be otherwise implied are expressly excluded in their entirety. The Company is not liable to You and/or the Authorised Driver for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages relating to this Agreement;
g) No right of the Company under this Agreement can be waived except by writing of an authorised officer of the Company;
h) Words used in this Agreement denote any gender shall include all genders, singular works including the plural, and noted on Page 1;
i) Notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement, a goods and services tax (GST) or any similar tax, stamp duty or any other tax, duty, surcharge, levy or fee (“charges”) imposed by Local, State or Federal Government that is charged and collected by the Company is imposed anywhere in Australia and has application to any supply or use made under or in conjunction with this Agreement or in relation to the use or the likely use of any roads, facilities or other infrastructure by You and/or the Authorised Driver or in relation to the provision of rental or other services to You or the Authorised Driver. The Company may in addition to the rate, price or any other amount or consideration quoted or expressed as payable elsewhere in this Agreement, recover from You and/or the Authorised driver an additional amount on account of the charge. Any additional amount on account of the charge shall be calculated without any deduction or set-off of any other amount and is payable to the Company upon demand.
j) You and/or the Authorised Driver acknowledge that your interest in the vehicle is as a bailee of the Company only and that You agree not to part with possession, dispose of, encumber or assign any right or interest in the Vehicle and not create any lien on the Vehicle for repairs;
k) You and/or the Authorised driver agree to indemnify the Company from and against any or all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, costs and expenses (including, but not limited to legal costs or an indemnity basis) incurred by the Company as a consequence of the failure for whatever reason of the due and punctual performance of your obligations under this Agreement;
l) You acknowledge that the Company has not in any way represented itself to You as an entity carrying on the business of insurance;
m) You and/or the authorised Driver must not at any time admit liability for any claim. Loss or demand and agree that if such admission is made by You and/or the Authorised Driver then that is a breach of the Agreement;
Fuel
The vehicle must be returned with the amount of fuel equal to that at the time of the rental. If the Vehicle is returned deficient of fuel the Hirer authorise Alpha to charge the cost of fuel replenishment, plus a service charge of $20.00 plus a GST component.
Personal Accident Insurance (where applicable)
Personal Accident Insurance can be provided to You and/or the Authorised Driver but only where You have accepted and paid the appropriate premium on Page 1. Acceptance and payment of that premium is deemed to be proof of coverage as well as your acceptance of the terms, conditions and exclusions of the Personal Accident Insurance policy. A copy of the policy document is available for you inspection.
Time Charges
Rental days consist of consecutive 24 hour periods starting at the time of the commencement of rental. If the Vehicle is returned after the allocated rental period without the Agreement of Alpha an additional minimum hourly rate of $22.00 per hour will be applied.
Infringement Notices
A fee of $99.00 will be charged for handling legal obligations relating to handling any infringement notices, parking fines or other enquiries of legally authorised Government authorities.
Mileage
Mileage is calculated from depot at 2-191Hedley Ave, Hendra and return to that location.
Damage
Should vehicle be returned to a location other than 2-191 Hedley Ave, Hendra, any damage sustained to the vehicle is deemed to be the responsibility of the hirer until such time as the vehicle is collected by the company from such location.
Breakdown:
All vehicles are covered by RACV 24-hour roadside assistance.
Street Directory:
Available upon request. Fees may be applicable.
Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the Supplier reserves the right to charge a minimum cancellation fee of $50 if 10 or more days notice is provided prior to the day of collection. It is at the Suppliers' discretion to charge up to 50% of the rental cost if less than 10 days notice is given.
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
General Brisbane Car Hire FAQ'S
Q Where can I not drive the rental vehicle?
A You may drive a vehicle in most states and Territories excluding, Northern Territories, South Australia Western Australia, Tasmania and no further north than Cairns in Queensland.
Q Can I use another persons Credit Card to pay for my rental?
A Yes, Another persons credit card may be used if prior written authority has been arranged with the Supplier.
Q Do we charge cancellation Fees?
A The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply: The Supplier reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of $50 AUD if less than 10 days notice is given. Your booking deposit paid upon confirmation of your booking to Imall Vehicle hire, owners of this website is also non refundable in the event of cancelling your booking.
Q If I lock my keys in the vehicle am I covered by Road Side Assistance?
A No, Roadside Assistance does not cover non-mechanical defects such as, lost keys, keys locked in the vehicle, flat battery due to lights being left on etc.
Q Do I need to have an International Drivers Licence?
A If you will be driving for a period that is longer then three (3) months and you have an International Drivers Licence it will be honored by Australian law. If you plan to stay in Australia for more than three months and intend to drive for that period you are required to obtain an International Drivers Permit.
Q Does the Supplier offer one-way rentals?
A Yes you may collect your car from Brisbane City and drop it back to our Brisbane Airport location or vice verse and collect your Vehicle at the Brisbane Airport and return back to our Brisbane City depot. You may also Pick up at Bribabe, Brisbane Airport depots or from the Gold Coast area and drop the vehicle off at any combination of these areas as well as drop off's only to Maroochydore Airports and areas.
Q Do I need to check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving the keys at the counter?
A Yes, and if you found a new apparent defect (not listed on the vehicle statement remitted at time of pick up) you have to inform the the Suppliers' employee for joint examination.
Q Can I return the vehicle outside the location operating hours?
A Yes, you may return your vehicle when the First Rate Car Rental location is closed if prior arrangements have been made. The vehicle will remain your responsibility until it has been checked by a staff representative.
Q Can I extend the rental duration?
A Extending the rental duration is possible at time of check out or during the rental itself. You will need to contact or come in person to the nearest location. The extension is subject to vehicle availability and extra payment.
Q Can anyone other then myself drive the car?
A Nobody can drive a vehicle whose name does not appear on the Rental Agreement. When collecting the vehicle each driver must be listed on the Rental Agreement and they must present their drivers licence at time of collection.
Q What happens if I return the vehicle late?
A If the vehicle is returned up to an 1 hour late one third of the rental will be charged. If it is returned greater than 2 hours late two thirds of the rental will be charged and if returned 3 hours late or more then a full days rental is charged.
Q Can I tow using a First Rate Car Rental Vehicle?
A No, a vehicle can not be used to tow or push anything, this forms part of the rental terms and conditions.
Q How many free kilometres per day?
A Unless otherwise specified the following FREE Kilometres apply to all Vehicle Classes:
250 Kilometres free per day
or you may negotiate your price to suit your needs extra kilometres are charged at 27.5 cents per km.
Q What methods of payment do the Supplier accept?
A The Supplier accepts cash, eftpos and all major Credit Cards including Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, American Express and Diners Card. The Supplier does require that the main driver on the vehicle holds a current credit card for bond purposes. Please note that a 5% surcharge apply's to all payments made by either Amex or Diners cards.

Q What age do I have to be to rent a vehicle?
A The minimum age for all drivers is 21. Drivers aged 21 to 24 are restricted to the types of vehicles they can hire, and are not able to reduce the standard excess. All Drivers under the age of 25 are subject to a daily age surcharge of $8.80 inclusive of GST.
Q Do u hire baby capsules?
A No we do not hire baby capsules but we have a limited number of upright baby seats and booster seats available upon request.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

There is a collision damage liability (CDL) of $2750.00 with the standard rates in an accident with another vehicle. This may be reduced to $1500.00 by paying an additional charge. This collision damage waiver (CDW) is optional. Hirers are reminded that overhead, interior, underbody, single vehicle damage, windscreen & tyre damage however caused is always at the hirers risk. Please note that insurance is void if driven on unsealed roads.

Premium Protection Package
In addition to the Collision Damage Liability (CDL) Package available, renters over the age of 25 (Trucks not included) also have the option of taking out the Premium Protection Package (PPL), which will in turn reduce your Single Vehicle Damage Accident damage and provide total peace of mind for as little as an additional charge, aligning your Multi and Single Vehicle Liability which will reduce your financial responsibility for accident damage to $330.00 plus administrative costs listed below.
