Rolo Hire Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2007 and 31-Dec-2008
Age of Drivers:Minimum driver age with Rolo is 21. All Drivers must hold a full and open drivers license. Drivers under 25 incur a $10/day age surcharge on small to large cars or $20/day on commercial vans and utes. Vehicles not available to drivers under 25: 12 Seater, 8 Seater, Mercedes Sprinter, and 3 Tonne Pantec Trucks.Additional Drivers:
Rolo does not charge additional driver fees for Cars or Wagons (except Toyota Tarago). Additional Drivers must be nominated by the renter on collection of the vehicle.
For Minibuses, Taragos, Commercial Vans and 3 Tonne Trucks, additional drivers are charged $2/day for full liability coverage purposes. Note: Please limit the number of additional drivers. Fewer additional drivers or "occassional" drivers means fewer accidents - have 1 or 2 drivers take responsibility.
Credit Card:
As per standard Australian Insurance Regulation, a credit card imprint must be provided in order to hire a vehicle*. *This imprint must be signed by the owner of the credit card at commencement of hire. A pre-authorisation may be required on the credit card if payment of the rental is not carried out on the credit card provided.
Child Seats:
Rolo only provides quality child seats. Baby Seats, Baby Capsules and Booster Seats are available for $33.00 per item. Please ensure forward booking to ensure availability. Baby Seats and capsules are to be fitted and or sufficiently checked by the renter, this is to ensure renters/parents satisfaction that the seat has been fitted correctly.
Insurance Information:
All Rolo Rent A Car vehicles are fully covered for any bodily injury or property damage caused to Third Parties by the rental vehicle, in accordance with the legal requirements of Australia of rental. This cover is automatically included in the rental at no extra cost.
Rolo Rent A Car offers the following packages to reduce your damage loss liability fee in the event of accident.
The available Collision Damage Waiver Fee (CDW) (Seen as WAIVER in the online booking screen "Options") reduces the Damage Liability Fee (DLF) in the case of loss or damage to the Rolo vehicle (excluding Windscreen, Headlights and Tyres). Note: Warning - Drivers beware - Renters Responsibility: Overhead, Tree, Pole, Undercarriage, Reversing, Animal, Abuse and Negligence are not covered by our liability or "Waiver" reduction.
The additional cover for Windscreen, Headlight and Tyre cover costs $3.30 per day (Seen as TYREWI in the online booking screen "Options"). Please ask our friendly staff if you have questions about this coverage.

Insurance and Protection - Collision Damage Waiver (WAIVER)
Yes your Rolo vehicle is insured before you decide to take out additional WAIVER (Collision Damage Waiver Options).
Your vehicle has the following liability
Getz, Echo:Standard Liability: $2100*. Reduce to $290* for $15.00/day (Waiver)
Corolla, Camry, Ford Wagon:Starting Liability $2500*. Reduce to $290* for $15.00/day (Waiver)
8 Seater & 12 Seater: Starting Liability $2500*. Reduce to $450* for $20.00/day (Waiver)
Additional Cover for Tyres, Headlights and your Windscreen is available for $3.30 per day. Many companies do not offer this option, and is provided by Rolo to cover you for a cracked windscreen or broken headlight that you may incur while undertaking a rental.

Drivers:
Drivers must present a full and open drivers license. Interstate and international drivers licenses are acceptable. No provisional licenses permitted.
Additional drivers are permitted providing license details are added to the contract. See "Additional Drivers" above for information on additional driver charges.
Emergency and 24Hour Breakdown Assistance:
Rolo Rent A Car / Van And Bus Hire is covered by a 24-hour roadside assistance service in every state and territory in Australia. If the vehicle is not repairable, a replacement vehicle is provided. Driver error issues such as running out of fuel/keys locked in car/broken keys/battery flattening due to headlights left on are at cost to the hirer ($66).
Extensions:
Customers may extend the rental period after a rental has commenced subject to availability and only with prior telephone approval from the destination branch. Payments for such extensions are required at the time of approval by credit card.
Kilometre Allowance:
Standard kilometre allowances are 200km per day average, I.e. On a 10 day rental 2000km are provided.
Unlimited kilometres are often provided from Airport locations. Unlimited kilometres are only offered within 500km radius of the collection location. If you are travelling further than a 500km radius please advise our staff for further information.
Kilometre allowances on 12 Seat Minbuses or 8 seat Taragos is 200km per day average cumulative (generally enough for even the most ambitions traveller), i.e. on a 10 day rental 2000km are provided free. (25c per km thereafter).
GPS Satellite Navigation:
GPS satellite navigation is available for $17.5/day.
License Requirements:
All drivers must present a full and open license. International and Interstate licenses are acceptable. No provisional licenses permitted.
Maps:
Local street directories for capital cities and surrounds are provided free of charge.

One Way Rentals and Relocation Fees:
For one way rentals relocation fees apply. At certain times of the year we are unable to provide one way rentals. Confirmation is required to ensure one way vehicle availability.
Payment and Security:
We welcome Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard, JCB, (Amex and Diners: 2.2% surcharge applies), Travelers Cheques, Cash, EftPos and Direct Funds Transfers. Payment by company cheque is accepted only with prior arrangement. No personal cheques accepted.
Pre-payment may be required on large or multi-vehicle hire or over high demand periods.
A Credit Card must be presented in the hirers name on collection of the vehicle. No exceptions.
A pre-authorisation (checking of available funds) can be requested by staff on the credit card provided for security. A pre-authorisation of $500 (ontop of the rental cost) may be requested to ensure credit worthiness for the liability excess.
Rental Duration:
Standard industry rules apply. All rentals are based on a 24-hour period with 59 minutes free. Extra Hours are charged at 1/4 the daily rate until 4 hours at which time a full day is charged.
Reservations:
A minimum deposit (deducted from total owing at commencement of rental) of $100 is required at time of booking to secure your vehicle. This ensures that Rolo will hold your vehicle for you, and that you as our confirmed customer will commit to renting with Rolo.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
